Advanced Math Legislation

Advanced Math Legislation requires that students in grades 6-12 who score a Level 5 on the EOG/EOC be placed in an advanced math class.   Students in grades 3-5 who score a Level 5 on the EOG should be provided advanced math learning opportunities through the Academically and Intellectually Gifted Program.   Since students do not have an EOG/EOC score for the 2019-20 school year, schools will use historical testing data and teacher recommendation to determine advanced math placement for students for the 2020-21 school year.   If your child is placed in advanced math, you will be notified by the school of this placement by August 1, 2020.

Parents/Students not identified for advanced math opportunities for the 2020-21 school year may contact their child’s Principal to discuss identification criteria and alternate placement tests that may be available to meet eligibility requirements (Appeals Deadline:  August 15, 2020).
